IATF 2025: Strong Participation of Algerian Public Enterprises

Several major Algerian public sector companies are taking part in the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), hosted in Algiers from September 4 to 10, 2025. Their presence aims to strengthen Algeria’s position in African markets, highlight the country’s industrial and productive capacities, and expand opportunities for trade and partnership across the continent.

The Algerian pavilion alone brings together 200 national enterprises, showcasing the diversity of the country’s economic fabric and reflecting Algeria’s ambition to consolidate its role as a regional economic hub.

The Algerian Cement Industrial Group (GICA) is leveraging IATF 2025 to boost cement exports across the continent and promote its range of products and services. Beyond supplying cement, GICA offers training, industrial assembly, maintenance services, and advanced technological solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

The group also provides consultancy on compliance with both local and international construction standards. According to its statement, GICA has been pivotal in ensuring national self-sufficiency in cement and positioning Algeria as a leading global exporter.

In 2023, the company exported 6.4 million tons of cement, generating nearly 24 billion DZD. In 2024, exports exceeded 6 million tons, valued at 18 billion DZD, with shipments reaching markets in Latin America, Europe, and Africa, including Brazil, Spain, the UK, Mauritania, Ghana, and Senegal.

In the energy sector, Sonelgaz is presenting a wide portfolio of its services and subsidiaries, attracting considerable attention from African delegations interested in its expertise and solutions.

Meanwhile, Sonarem participates under the slogan “Partners for the Valorization of Mineral Resources for Sustainable Development.” The company seeks to expand partnerships with African stakeholders and showcase its export-ready products such as phosphate, salt, marble, and calcium carbonate. Sonarem’s strategy focuses on sustainable mining, industrial diversification, and contributing to Algeria’s industrial independence while aligning with international standards.

Sonatrach, Africa’s largest energy company, joins IATF 2025 under the theme “Bridges to New Opportunities.” Its presence underscores Algeria’s strategic role in the continent’s energy landscape and the company’s commitment to exploring new cooperation opportunities, particularly in energy transition, renewables, and green technologies.

The company’s senior executives are also participating in specialized workshops on energy transition, research, development, and innovation, exchanging expertise with African peers and reinforcing Algeria’s leadership in the sector.

Naftal views the trade fair as a key platform to highlight its capabilities in petroleum distribution and marketing while expanding its role as a regional leader. The company seeks to boost cooperation and exchange expertise to advance commercial and industrial integration in Africa.

In logistics, Logitrans is showcasing Algeria’s potential as a regional trade and logistics hub, emphasizing its support for strengthening intra-African trade and enhancing Algeria’s position as a gateway to the continent.

In telecommunications, Algeria Telecom and its subsidiaries are participating with the goal of consolidating their national leadership and expanding into international markets. Their strategy is centered on sustainable digital transformation, supported by diverse, high-quality services.

Meanwhile, Djezzy is highlighting its digital solutions tailored for businesses and young entrepreneurs, reaffirming its role as a strategic partner in economic and digital development in Algeria and Africa.

The strong participation of Algeria’s leading public enterprises in IATF 2025 reflects the country’s determination to reinforce its economic footprint in Africa, diversify exports, and foster sustainable partnerships across sectors ranging from energy and mining to telecommunications and logistics.
